The Clean Slate...it's not just a Riesling

Now that I blew it out on Saturday with the girls on the Cape, I have a nice fresh clean slate to start over with. Strange right, how without talking about it or addressing the problems 99% can go away after a nice night out. I'm sure they will be back, and much of my stress in the last few weeks came along with the dreaded month of you-know-what but I have hit my stride and am back on my A-game. Bring it on work.

Despite the big hot mess I am when I get back on the Rock (and the even bigger hot mess I found in my house...thermostat on all weekend and dead flowers, wine explosions etc), I have a coffee break with girlie Amanda and power thru the day. Yoga was at 10, so I've got to get myself together and handle it on my own. Rodney Yee, in my living room.

Pushing out the toxins, stretching the body, and relaxing the mind. I think about the last week of my life and all of the conversations I have had. They all rush back at once.
This too shall pass, I write to niece Maddison Saturday night, upon hearing of a life dilema from the West Coast.
Shit happens Jess, I advise over a Grey Goose Saturday night, Be stronger than the problem itself and rise above it. You kick ass, you can do it.
So everyones life is a little nuts right now, right?
I think to myself, the proverbial spring fever perhaps?
Jami blames all of our problems on the economy, which is a great scapegoat since it has no voice and can't defend itself. I like this approach, and it always makes me smile when she states this theory.

I move outside, into the beautiful sunshine and practice my warrior sequence on the deck. The sun is beaming down on me, and while it's not necessarily warm it feels nice on my face. I squint up, and sun salutation a few times. My neighbors are probably looking out their windows wondering what the hell I am doing now, considering that last week my yard was littered with cava swilling friends at Easter brunch.

I finally realize I haven't eaten today, in 24 hours to be exact. I've got a whole weekend of work to do, and an entire week ahead to prep for. I conclude my sesh with lying on my back by the Hydrangeas and basking in the light, eyes closed and mind free (easy to free mind today, it can't handle much). This posture is called savasana or corpse which is very suitable today.

5 days left...must make each one count.
