Wow! The sun came out with a vengeance on Saturday! First outdoor ride of the season! It was a little windy, which definitely adds a splash of resistance. In addition, I let my husband lead the course, which results in my walking the bike thru empty parcels of land that he demands on cutting thru. I ride without my iPod for about 10 minutes and almost have a fit, so I realize that time is of the essence in addressing this situation for the actual ride.
One of the good folks on my ride for list is Mickey Danoff, my husband's platform tennis partner. Mickey was diagnosed in the fall with pancreatic cancer, and after several treatments in Boston is back on the island with his family. Saturday was the "Do It For Danoff Fun(d)rasier" where all of the members of the NPTA met up and played a round robin tourney. Tania and I popped out for some support (I broke out my flip-flops...welcome back into my life. I missed you old friend).
In honor of the first day of Spring...Bartlett's is hosting a farm party. Jami and the girls pick me up and we head out for an afternoon of painting faces, birdhouses and rocks, and grabbed some lunch with the Lower ladies and Pam and her crew. This day was definitely sponsored by the Mommy Circuit, a crew who I have about 5 friends in.
Quote of the day: Success is going from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.
