I'd like to start off by apoligizing for yesterdays "Debbie Downer" blog. Thank God February is a mere 28 days, I tell you. The day started off really bad with some unfortunate family news, but ended with a Mexican Fiesta (certainly not either "clean food" or "Melissas diet") but none the less delish. At any rate, listening to me rant is not why you log on so I am sorry.
I met up with Jami in the later afternoon for week 2 of TRX training.
"I have a proposition for you" she states, avoiding eye contact, which makes me nervous. "How do you feel about both TRX's being up, and us working out at the same time to music?"
So that's what we did. Jami cranked the Positive K and we went to town. I must say, it's really helpful to watch Jami, who is completely in beat with the music and using the TRX with ease, so I can see where I am going wrong and work on my form. Jami now gets a kick out of calling my core flim flam, which is actually a very suitable synonym since high residual sugar is how my body got into this mess.
"Work the flim flam" she giggles, cracking herself up. I've noticed that she's more aggressive when I am ass over tea kettle, my feet strung up in the stirups and I can't get away too quickly or attempt a swing in her direction. After our mutually-agreed upon 30 minutes, I regain my composure and hop on the elliptical for 30 minutes before calling it a day.
This TRX thing means business people. My husband keeps threatening to get one, and I have fears of losing my herb and vegetable gardens to some sort of Muscle Beachesque outdoor gym (it would be sooo Jersey Shore though...). A colleague Meri has told me of a TRX/Spin class she takes in Boston, but it sounds very urban-legend like.
So this morning I am aching! I spin with Jami at 7, but can't even fathom another class (sorry Johnna) as every fiber of my being aches.
And I will leave you all with a small request for this day...think positive happy thoughts for my dad, who is having some outpatient work done today!

Will someone tell me what TRX is? I'm a bit behind in following the training. In fact, I'm behind most of the time, but you do get to see just how fast the folks passing me are.....I did manage a 3.1 mile run today, but it was called "JOG" not "TRX"....
